NOGALES, ARE.– The Border Patrol reported this past weekend the seizure of several groups of illegal migrants, including some who were transported in the trunk of a vehicle and others who were discovered by “Nero”, a canine agent, while they expected to be picked up by human traffickers.
The new interim head of the Tucson Sector, Sabri Y. Dikman, revealed in a first case that agents assigned to the Nogales and Tucson stations discovered undocumented persons while they were being transferred inside the trunks of two vehicles, in separate cases. .
The drivers of both cars, a US national, were arrested and face federal human trafficking charges.
On the other hand, a group of 110 people who crossed the border illegally were insured near San Miguel, Arizona, of which more than ninety were children or minors without the company of a direct relative or responsible adult.
Dikman added in this report that smugglers continue to abandon vulnerable groups of people in extremely remote areas of the desert.
