Responding to the circulation of information, the Director of the Communications Department of Bank Indonesia Junanto Herdiawan then spoke up.
Junanto explained that the coins that were exchanged would definitely have the same nominal value as what was stated.
“Yes, if it is exchanged with BI, it will be valued at the nominal stated on the money,” said Junanto, quoted from Kompas.com, Sunday (5/9/2021).
The coins that can be exchanged for a nominal amount of IDR 750,000 as referred to in the LEZAT.id Facebook account post are one of the Special Rupiah Currency (URK).
“If you want to exchange the money as a transaction tool, you must exchange it with money that is valid as a current transaction with the nominal stated,” he said.
