APPARENTLY Chat history transfer feature from iOS to Android belongs WhatsApp finally available to all users.
But at this time this feature can only be sampled on Samsung phones. In its blog, WhatsApp said that the feature of moving chats between operating systems had long been requested by users.
With this feature, users don’t have to worry about losing their WhatsApp chat history when switching phones from iPhone to Android.
“This history transfer can be done directly without going through WhatsApp, including for voice messages, photos and videos,” WhatsApp wrote, quoted from its official blog.
Those who want to use this feature must pay attention to the things that are needed. First, iPhone devices must have WhatsApp iOS version 2.21.160.17 or later and new Samsung phones must have WhatsApp Android version 2.21.16.20 or later.
Samsung devices must install the Samsung SmartSwitch app version 3.7.22.1 or later.
In addition, WhatsApp users must use the same phone number as used on the old device. Samsung users will need a USB Type-C to Lightning cable to make this transfer.
Here’s how to migrate from iPhone to Samsung:
1. Turn on your Samsung device and connect it by cable to iPhone when prompted.
2. Scan the QR code displayed on the new device using the iPhone camera.
3. Tap Start on iPhone, and wait for the process to complete.
4. Continue setting up your new Samsung device.
5. While on the home screen, open WhatsApp and sign in using the same phone number that was used on your old device.
6. Tap Import when prompted, and let the process complete.
7. Complete the activation of the new device and you will see your chats.
