If your Apple Watch produces burns or reactions on your skin, this is what you should do | Technology

The Apple Watch or its strap can end up causing burns or strange reactions on the wrist of some users.

We have gone from wearing traditional watches of a lifetime on our wrist, to wearing smart watches that have different sensors that can even get hotter than they should at a particular time, which can cause, on rare occasions, allergic reactions or even minor burns to the arm.

This is very rare to happen, but depending on the material of the device, your medical background or even the way you press the watch on your wrist, you could expect the odd unpleasant surprise on your delicate skin.

However, as reported WSOC-TV, via phonearena, a woman claims that the Apple Watch caused her a reaction with burns on her arm, and although she thought that at first a bee had been trapped under the smartwatch, upon discovering the injury, she saw that the Apple Watch itself had been the cause.

Apparently this is not a new complaint, and up to 18 similar complaints had already been filed in the records of the Consumer Product Safety Commission where they indicate that the Apple Watch it can cause blisters, burning, burns or severe redness of the skin, and even in Apple’s own forum they have found references to red marks that looked like burns.

The Apple website lists the materials used by the watch and the straps so that the user knows exactly if they are allergic to them, and although they do not refer to possible burns, they do state that it could cause “possible skin sensitivities”For different allergy or even environmental issues.

However Apple on its website affirms that to avoid these rare injuries you must keep your skin clean and dry when using the smart watch. Likewise, they also affirm that you should be careful when switching to third party bracelets that are not manufactured by Apple.

And finally, they comment that the user must make sure that the watch is neither too tight nor too loose.

On the other hand the dermatologist Steven Feldman found that many smartwatches, not just the Apple Watch, contain nickel which can cause allergic reactions.

When consulted by WSOC-TV, the dermatologist Feldman, points out that if you have any kind of allergic reaction when wearing a smartwatch, you should find out what material the watch is made of.
