Motorcyclist seriously injured after traffic accident on E 18 at Dyreparken – NRK Sørlandet – Local news, TV and radio

The case is being updated

It was at 14.12 that the police were notified of a traffic accident on the E18 in a westerly direction, close to the Zoo in Kristiansand.

“Motorcycles have ridden in the crash barrier, unknown extent of damage, the emergency services are on their way,” the police wrote on Twitter.

On Saturday afternoon, the police confirmed that the accident was serious, and that both forensic technicians and the accident group from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration were routinely in place at the accident site.

Long lines

E 18 was closed for a period in both directions. This led to very long queues.

At 14.49, Vegtrafikksentralen announced that one field in an eastbound direction had been opened to traffic.

E 18 westwards, on the other hand, was closed for almost three hours and traffic was diverted to county road 420.

Just before 17.00, the E 18 was reopened to normal traffic. Then the police stated that they had finished the technical investigations and that the motorcycle had been removed.

The traffic accident led to long queues and the E 18 was closed to all traffic for a period after the accident.
