On the occasion of September in Gold, international month of childhood cancer, the municipality of Ouistreham, near Caen (Calvados), is committed against pediatric cancers through activities on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September 2021.
The stake of this mobilization is twofold. First, to raise awareness of pediatric cancers so that their specificities are better taken into account and also to have the necessary means to imagine the treatments of tomorrow.
Fund research
The donations collected will be used to finance research projects on pediatric cancers. As a reminder, 500 children and adolescents die of cancer each year in France and 6,000 in Europe.
The program
Saturday September 4. Place Albert Lemarignier, charity concerts; 6:30 p.m .: The Rags; 7:45 p.m .: DJ Phil. Sports activities for a family audience. From 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Participation of one euro per activity with a challenge to be reached. A raffle ticket will be offered to the winners. All profits will be donated to the League Against Cancer.
Sunday September 5. Beach. Free musical entertainment with DJ Phil from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Challenge “out of the ordinary” Sunday
A challenge is offered on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the beach. It is a fun course on the beach with the participation of children, adolescents, parents and grandparents.
Each team receives a cup which will be filled with water at the start of each turn on the animation, the goal is to overcome all the obstacles by overturning as little as possible its container to at the end transfer it to a common container.
A large tonne of water will fill the glasses in each group. The poured water will be colored gold. The container will be graduated with several levels that will unlock money in favor of the League against cancer.
Teams can be made up of 2 to 4 people, with the presence of at least one adult.
