Prison for perpetrators of failed explosives raids in West

Two men, aged 19 and 21, who wanted to commit a bombing raid on the Overtoom in West in February, have been jailed. The court has sentenced both to 30 months in prison, six of which are suspended.

The explosions severely damaged the ATM and the facade of the building. Several windows of surrounding buildings were also damaged. No one was injured and no loot was taken by the perpetrators

It was not the first time the men had committed the crime: both had already been convicted of property crimes. In addition to the prison sentence, they are required to undergo treatment and to cooperate in obtaining or maintaining a daytime activity.
