Technicians of National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) met with representatives of the Butantan Institute (IB) this Friday (3). The objective was to technically discuss the use of the Covid-19 vaccine Coronavac as a booster dose.
Butantan presented international studies to the agency in a closed meeting. However, Anvisa does not intend to make announcements after the meeting.
The state of São Paulo plans to use Coronavac as a third dose, even with the Ministry of Health not recommending the immunizing agent for these applications, but the Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Janssen vaccines.
the booster dose will begin to be applied in São Paulo from Monday (6).
