jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Samsung has finally introduced a 200MP image sensor, which will be aimed at mobile cameras (HP).
according to Samsung, the presence of these components makes the HP camera sensor with the highest resolution ever made.
The sensor, named Isocell HP1 is equipped with pixel-binning technology of up to 16 pixels.
Samsung calls the HP1’s pixel-binning technology the ChameleonCell.
The quad 12.5MP setup is shown for low-light use, but can still take 200MP full-resolution photos or use the double binning technique for 50MP images.
Quoted by The Verge, Friday (3/9), the two-by-two binning mode also allows the HP1 to record 8K video.
Samsung says the sensor is capable of shooting 8K without cropping, though standard 8K is less than 50MP.
Not only that, Samsung introduced another new sensor called Isocell GN5, which is a 50MP sensor with 1.0um pixels, which integrates the Pro dual pixel technology.
