The Unlimited subscription is over on Spotify

If you have an Unlimited subscription on Spotify (at € 4.99 per month), that will soon be a thing of the past. The music streaming giant now favors Spotify Free and Spotify Premium.

If you are familiar with the platform, you probably know that it offers several subscription plans. There is Spotify Free which, as the name suggests, is completely free but has the disadvantage of interspersing playlists with ads from time to time. Another offer is Spotify Premium, which costs € 9.99 per month and is the classic subscription at Spotify. But an intermediate option remained, Spotify Unlimited, less expensive than the Premium version and offering interesting services, such as offline listening or the absence of ads.

Now, people with an Unlimited subscription will automatically be redirected to a Free subscription on the date of their next billing. They will obviously be able to choose the Premium option if they wish to preserve certain advantages.

Doesn’t the company run the risk of losing customers who would take the opportunity to turn to the competition? Note that this change can also be a paid calculation: some users, satisfied with the Spotify Unlimited offer, may therefore spontaneously go to a subscription at € 9.99.
