Inter has been assigned another unscheduled inspection, and NASH TV channel intends to revoke its license.

The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting has imposed sanctions on several Ukrainian TV channels and radio stations due to violations committed on their air or related to a violation of their program concept. This was announced on Thursday, September 2, by the press service of the National Council.

It is noted that the TV channels Inter, NASH, MAXI-TV, as well as the radio station Radio Klass, fell under the sanctions, while the TV channels Donetskina TV, Iceland, Channel 5 and radio station and Kraina FM received warnings.

For example, the Inter TV channel has been assigned another unscheduled non-exit check due to the demonstration of Soviet films with the participation of actors who are included in the List of persons posing a threat to national security.

“For the period from August 9 to August 29, 12 such films were broadcast on the air of the TV channel,” the statement says.

It is specified that the inspection will be carried out from September 17 to October 1. By September 21, the licensee must send the necessary documents and materials to the regulator.

In addition, NASH TV channel may have its license revoked, since it did not eliminate previously discovered violations related to incitement to hatred on the air of broadcast TV programs.

“The NASH TV channel did not eliminate the violations, for which it received two penalties, and continues to spread hate speech in its programs, so the regulator will go to court with a claim to revoke the license,” the National Council reported.

They note that the hate speech on the air of the TV channel was incited by the guests of the programs, while the presenters did not try to “refute or criticize any statement of the guest of the program, thus they did not ensure the provision of objective and complete information to the viewers.”

“They did not even try to stop statements containing hate speech and biased information. On the contrary, they agreed and provoked the guest to such rhetoric … The staff of the NASH TV channel ignored their duties and responsibilities to the audience, to society and did not take any measures to stop such offenses during the live broadcast In the replay, the program was broadcast without changes and editorial moderation, and this has signs of deliberately providing false information, “the Council emphasizes.

It is also noted that the MAXI TV channel, which rebroadcast the programs of the NASH TV channel, will have to pay more than UAH 230,000 in fines.

The TV channel Donetskina TV also fell under the sanctions of the regulator, which was issued a warning due to non-observance of the procedure for placing the logo and data on the program manufacturer, the program concept, as well as advertising legislation.

The National Council also received a warning from the ICELAND TV channel, which did not broadcast on the satellite frequencies allocated to it, Channel 5 and the radio station Kraina FM, which received warnings due to violations of the broadcasting program on Memorial Days.

In addition, the regulator fined the radio station Radio Klass for UAH 1,800 for failure to fulfill the share of songs on the air that are sung in Ukrainian.

We will remind, on February 2, the President Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed sanctions for five years against three TV channels – 112 Ukraine, ZIK and NewsOne, which called such a decision “political reprisal”.

Soon independent lawyers appealed the sanctions against TV channels in the Supreme Court, but the Court of Cassation, composed of the Supreme Court dismissed the claim.
