Get some fresh air, meet others, enjoy live music: the recipe for success has caught on for the fifth time. The band “Rathmann” and the jazz duo “Eulen und Pfeil” played in Professor-Bier-Strasse on Wednesday. The good news: there will be a lookup for the next week.
Korbach – At first “Rathman” was at the start with the night watchman, with piano, drums, bass and vocals. The musicians played pop music, exclusively German-language songs with catchy lyrics: It was about love and daydreams, intoxication and hangovers, topics of life, realistic and occasionally a little melancholy. The members of the band, who have only been playing together since the summer of this year, come from Frankenberg and Marburg and write the songs themselves. Unfortunately, the lyrics came across a little acoustically at times.
At Henkels, “Eulen und Pfeil” then played songs by the Beatles, purely instrumental with electric guitar and acoustic bass. When you first listened to the songs, they couldn’t be identified as pieces by the “Fab Four”: Jörg Pfeil and Heiko Eulen had rearranged the songs and interpreted them in a very jazzy way. A concentrated performance with a suitable cast.
All in all, there was again a lot of activity on the mile with initially pleasant temperatures. There was a lot to do for the three organizers Vinothek Pawel, Metzgerei Ludwig Tent and Eintopf.
The visitors had enjoyed the beer garden atmosphere in the past five weeks – many came back to the pedestrian zone to hear live music. Organizer Jörg Pfeil is satisfied with the way the events went. Regional musicians would have had the chance to perform again. The organization with the two venues and the “time window” for the musicians has proven itself. Thomas Ludwig Tent, one of the co-organizers, is also satisfied with the series of events, although everything meant a lot of work for him and his team. “We wanted to do something for Korbach,” he says, “and I think we did it well”.
The city and the Waldecker Bank supported them, and the organizers helped each other, said Tent. The requirements of the protective and security measures were initially complex, but then quite feasible. The visitors had to register themselves in lists or log in with an app.
The series of events was supposed to end on September 1st, but because it was so nice, there is another lookup. Next Wednesday, September 8th, there will be live music again in the pedestrian zone. Cynthia from Bonn will be there with a mix of folk and blues and a robust voice, a real street musician. There is also another band. (Hans Peter Osterhold)
