Russia will supply military equipment to Belarus

Russia will soon deliver a large consignment of military equipment to Belarus, including planes, helicopters and air defense systems, Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko said.

The supply of military equipment is likely to be interpreted as further confirmation of Moscow’s support for the Lukashenko regime.

Russian and Belarusian forces will take part in joint military exercises this month, and Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Russia on 9 September.

Russia in the near future (..) will supply us – I will not say how much money or what – dozens of planes, dozens of helicopters, the main anti-aircraft weapons,” Lukashenko said, quoting the news agency Belta.

“Probably even S-400s missiles. We really need them,” said the President of Belarus.
