The seven-day incidence in Schleswig-Holstein is 49.6 after 305 newly reported corona cases (data as of September 1). 74 people who tested positive for Corona are being treated in the hospital.
The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who have demonstrably been infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic is now 71,790 after 305 newly reported cases. According to an estimate by the RKI, around 67,200 Schleswig-Holsteiners are considered to have recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics A new death was reported in connection with the viral disease Covid-19 – the total number is 1,654. The seven-day incidence is now 49.6 (previous day: 47.7).

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon – the national figures are usually published the evening before. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values generally do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. Kiel with highest incidence
The city of Kiel has the highest seven-day incidence with 85.5 (previous day: 85.1), followed by Lübeck 80.8 (previous day 80.8) and Neumünster with 79.8 (previous day: 93.5). The lowest values are in the districts of Schleswig-Flensburg with 19.4 (previous day: 20.4), Rendsburg-Eckernförde with 22.6 (previous day: 21.2) and Plön with 28.8 (previous day: 27.2) .

What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and have been reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
