Today at Apple Creative Studios expanding to Chicago and Washington, DC – Marseille News

After launching Creative Studios in Los Angeles, Beijing, Bangkok and London, the Today at Apple mentorship program is aimed at young creatives in Washington and Chicago.

According to a press release from Apple, starting this month, Today at Apple Creative Studios will bring career programming and creative resources to underrepresented communities in Chicago and Washington, DC.

These two cities are building on the programs launched earlier this summer, which explore a variety of creative passions through music and radio production, photography, app design, and more.

“We’re excited to be able to connect young people from under-represented communities with artists and mentors to guide and inspire them in Washington and Chicago,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president for Retail + People. “In every city where we’ve launched Today at Apple Creative Studios, our partnerships with amazing community organizations have enabled us to bring creative arts education to those who need it most, and we look forward to bringing Creative Studios in even more cities.

Led in collaboration with community partners, local nonprofits and Apple, creative youth in Washington and Chicago will have access to mentorship, hands-on experience and industry know-how to deepen photography, illustration and writing.

Today at Apple Creative Studios – DC, aspiring authors and illustrators will have the opportunity to hone their creative and professional skills while developing the ability to tell their stories in their own words. The program, which officially begins on September 20, aims to diversify the landscape of children’s and youth literature and is presented in collaboration with the local association Shout Mouse Press – a writing workshop and publishing house with a mission to amplify marginalized voices – and students of the Latin American Youth Center.

Today, Apple Creative Studios Chicago launches on September 18 and will work with the youth of Little Village to amplify the unique stories of emerging talent through photography and illustration. In collaboration with community partners Yollocalli Arts Reach, the Instituto Justice and Leadership Academy and the Chicago Architecture Biennale, Apple will offer free arts and culture programming for five weeks to aspiring artists and photographers, providing them with the tools they need. need to embark on their creative journey.
