But the case is different if humans are on the planet Venus. On this neighboring planet Earth, the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. This happens because Venus rotates on its axis backwards.
Venus rotates very slowly. It takes about 243 Earth days for one rotation. It takes 225 Earth days for Venus to orbit the Sun. That means a day on Venus is slightly longer than a year on Venus.
The impact of the length of the day and year is similar, a day on Venus is not like a day on Earth. On Earth, the Sun rises and sets once every day. on Venus the sun rises every 117 Earth days. This means that the Sun only rises twice a year on Venus.
Venus was the first planet to be explored by a spacecraft. NASA successfully landed there using Mariner 2 on December 14, 1962. However, the exploration did not last long due to the extreme heat and heavy pressure.
