Metropolitan police flocked to the Las Vegas Strip on the afternoon of Aug. 31 due to a suspicious object at the Trump Hotel and after receiving bomb threats.
According to Captain Dori Koren, of the metropolitan police, the incident was reported around 12:53 p.m. when a man with two suitcases entered the property and left them inside, shortly after he began shouting that there was a bomb and that everyone should go out.
According to Doren, about 15 minutes later, the Trump hotel received two calls with bomb threats on the property.
Metropolitan police came, supported by Clark County Firefighters and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, to investigate the area. Due to this, the street of Fashion Show Drive was closed from Sammy Davis Jr. Drive to Las Vegas Boulevard in order to rule out that it is a dangerous object for the public.
Koren added that at the moment there did not appear to be a danger and that they are continuing to investigate to rule out any danger, so the closures could last for several hours.
Authorities revealed that a man is being detained, and that hotel security decided to evacuate only a section of the property, but not in its entirety.
