The case was reported in a report by India’s National Center for Biotechnology Information. According to reports, the unidentified teenager’s injuries occurred after he injected liquid mercury into his body.
The teenager stated that he did so at least three times using mercury taken from a thermometer.
“The teenager also had a history of being bitten by a spider to imitate a fictional characteri Spider-Man. However, he has no other psychiatric problems other than having a normal intelligence or IQ,” the report said.
The doctor performed a toxicological examination to check the mercury levels in the teenager’s blood.
The teenager was lucky because the injections were done, not all in a major vein, but the boils that occurred in his body had to be cut and he also had to undergo skin graft surgery.
The teenager is also expected to make a full recovery.
