This time, is it the right one? After having thought about and then given up on reopening his establishment last July, Martial Philippon will turn on the lights again and make the speakers of One discotheque in Montluçon (Allier) spit out again, from this Friday, September 3, at 11:30 p.m.
The establishment will then be open every Friday and Saturday as well as Thursday for student evenings from September 9.
The nightclub closed for more than seventeen months
For the Montluçonnaise nightclub, which had just celebrated its first anniversary in March 2020, this recovery will mark the end of a very long tunnel of over seventeen months without welcoming any clubber.

Martial Philippon judges that the conditions are better met than at the beginning of the summer for a reopening. From a health point of view “because more people have since had time to be vaccinated, especially among the youngest”. And from an economic point of view, “with the end of the holidays and the return of students”.

A 75% gauge and the compulsory health pass
First, the One will reopen at 75% of its maximum capacity, or up to 750 people. To be able to access the dance floor, however, it will be compulsory to have a valid health pass. In other words: to be 100% vaccinated for more than seven days after the second dose, or to present a PCR or antigen test (less than 48 hours), or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19.
“Inside, it will be as before since wearing a mask is recommended but not compulsory except for our employees, all up to date with their vaccination”, underlines Martial Philippon.
The experience of reopening the X in Aubusson
The latter is rather optimistic about the recovery. “We reopened our other club – the X nightclub in Aubusson – at the beginning of August. Admittedly, it is smaller, but last Saturday, we almost reached the authorized level. It also allowed us to prepare for the reopening of One. We are now well established on the protocol to be applied. “
