A woman from Hauzenberg (Passau district) received a dubious offer for an alleged corona drug – and reacted exactly right.
She turned to the police. This case is by no means the only attempt at fraud that concerns the officials in Hauzenberg. The Hauzenbergerin received a friend request on Facebook in mid-August and confirmed the contact. They then talked initially via Messenger and then via WhatsApp.
In the course of the chat, the Internet acquaintance stated that there was now a cure for the corona infection in Israel. He would like to send her this remedy. He works in a hospital and therefore has the opportunity to purchase the drug. To be able to send it, he needs the address of the young woman. But the woman didn’t want to reveal that. She cut off contact and informed the police.
Fraud by “Lidl Digital”
While looking through his account statements, an Obernzeller found that “Lidl Digital” had debited 200 euros, even though he was not registered with the Lidl app. The amount could be booked back. Initial research revealed that 481 similar cases have now accumulated across Bavaria. Now the police are investigating.
There are initial successes in an Internet fraud to which a woman from Obernzell fell victim at the beginning of August. The woman had bought Michael Kors women’s shoes for 14 euros on eBay classifieds. She had transferred the sum to the bank account given, but she is still waiting in vain for the shoes. Therefore, she had filed a complaint. The investigation by the police in Hauzenberg now led to an urgently suspect 43-year-old who lives in Augsburg. The local police station has now taken over this process and is processing it further.
This is how it works in another case of fraud that occurred at the end of June and was reported to the Hauzenberg inspection in mid-July. As reported, a young woman from Thyrnau was looking for a dog through eBay classifieds. Thereupon a provider had reported. The Thyrnauerin bought a beagle from him. She paid the agreed 770 euros. But the dog was not delivered. The injured party then tried to contact the seller by phone and WhatsApp, but this was no longer possible.
The investigation now led to a Serb (48) from Freiburg. He had received the agreed down payment of 250 euros and conducted the sales negotiations with the injured party. A woman (40) from Darmstadt is also involved in the case. At the request of the Serbs, the two remaining payments were transferred to their account. The role of the 40-year-old must now be shown by further investigations in Freiburg. − red
