Not Nottingham Forest, Lille OSC, Galatasaray or Aston Villa will be the new club of Abdou Harroui, but Sassuolo. With that news, Gianluca Di Marzio will unpack on Monday morning.
Sassuolo rents Harroui from Sparta with an option to buy. The deal is at such an advanced stage that a medical examination has already been scheduled. It is striking that Sassuolo Harroui will rent first. As a result, Sparta does not immediately get the desired millions that it would have liked. The club had an agreement with Nottingham on a transfer fee of several million (presumably 3.5 million), but the Championship club has now dropped out.
Several clubs have recently been associated with Harroui. At first it seemed to go between Nottingham and Lille, but suddenly the name of Aston Villa appeared in the English media and after a radio silence of a few days it seems to be Sassuolo.
However, it is not yet complete. There are several clubs in the race, but Sassuolo has the best papers. Harroui’s contract with Sparta expires in ten months.
Update: The transfer from Harroui to Sassuolo is a matter of time, reports The Telegraph. The Italian club hires him first and then takes him over permanently from Sparta. Harroui will undergo a medical examination on Monday.
