Corona: This is how the first “2G weekend” went in Hamburg | NDR.de – News – Hamburg

It’s not just outfit and appearance that are crucial if the party people want to get past Hamburg’s bouncers. From now on, many doors will only open to vaccinated and convalescent people.

The 2G rule has been in force in the Hanseatic city since Saturday. Some neighborhood bars were particularly fast and had already switched to Saturday night. From midnight onwards, they were allowed to let in more guests – but only those vaccinated against Corona or those recovered from the virus. Sometimes it was almost as full again as it was before Corona times.

Violations of the new rules

It didn’t always work out smoothly: A club in the Große Freiheit had to close until the next morning after a check by the police, the health department and the district. The new freedoms have already been used there, but the new 2G rules have apparently not yet been complied with. There were similar complaints on Sunday night at a bar on Hans-Albers-Platz.

These rules apply under 2G

There is now a 2G option model in Hamburg. This means that the organizers can decide whether they will only let in those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. 1 min

The 2G model can be offered by anyone who has registered for it. This has been possible for organizers and landlords at the city since Friday. In addition, the entire workforce must be vaccinated. Then there is no curfew – the last time around the Reeperbahn had to be closed at 11 p.m. – and you can dance again. However, a mask must be put on to dance. In music clubs, at live music events and at sports events, 1,300 people are allowed indoors and up to 2,000 outdoors. When dancing, the maximum limits are 750 people outside and 150 people inside. The staff is responsible for checking the guests’ vaccination and recovery records.

So far 272 registrations for the 2G model

In restaurants where the 2G option applies, tables can again be placed anywhere, masks no longer have to be worn at fixed standing and seating areas, and there is no longer any need to stand. There is no longer any obligation to test and the curfew has been lifted here as well. By Sunday afternoon, a total of 272 organizers and hosts had already registered. Especially many with 109 in the Mitte district, very few in Bergedorf – there are just 7.

Unique in Germany

The 2G option model that has been in effect in Hamburg since Saturday is so far unique in Germany. Organizers and hosts can thus decide for themselves whether they only let in vaccinated and convalescent people, who are then largely exempt from the corona restrictions, or whether they want to continue using the 3G model – i.e. also accept current tests.

Clubs and bars in particular use the 2G option

The first weekend with the option to 2G showed that clubs and smaller bars in particular are making use of the new option. Larger restaurants or cafes make even less use of it. That also seems logical, but it is more worthwhile for the “little ones”: In a tiny Kiez pub, the landlord can only receive very few guests under the previous Corona restrictions – and tends to reduce staff costs. Even if most are sorry to have to exclude some people now.
