The previous owner had sold the house on July 1, writes the Animal Protection their site. When the new owners, who had bought the house through an auction, wanted to move into their new home, the scrawny tomcat slipped past them.
The new homeowners immediately informed the animal ambulance.
Puzzle
The tomcat had managed to survive alone in an empty house for over a month and a half. How he managed to keep that up is a mystery. Perhaps the beast initially had some food that ran out. His stool contained papers that he probably ingested during his search for food.
Money has now been raised through crowdfunding to pay for Finn’s stay in the emergency clinic, his vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and, at a later date, his castration and chip.

Upset
According to the emergency services, Finn is quite upset about everything he has been through. When he has recovered, a new home for the courageous male will be sought.
“There must have been something like a dripping tap,” says a spokesperson for the Animal Protection at Omroep Rijnmond about how the animal quenched its thirst.
What exactly happened is how Finn was left alone in the empty house is still unclear. Police are looking for the previous owner and are investigating how this could have happened.
