Jakarta, Selular.ID – Rumors of the appearance of ColorOS 12 have been circulating on the internet this month. It was previously rumored to be released in August. However, a new leak suggests the next ColorOS version might be released in September.
According to a post on Weibo, Oppo’s AI assistant Breeno revealed the exact date and time for the ColorOS 12 reveal. The assistant gave the exact release date and time when asked, “When will ColorOS 12 be released?”.
According to the image shared by tipster, the next version of ColorOS is ready for release on September 13 at 3pm (GMT +8). However, later the response was changed to “coming soon, please stay tuned~”.
ColorOS 12 is predicted to bring similar features to Huawei’s Multi Screen Collaboration. The feature is rumored to be dubbed ColorOS Cross-Screen Interconnection.
For starters, it’s likely a limited release in China as part of beta testing, but it will be released globally at a later stage with the launch of ColorOS 12.
The latest version will support instant connection, cross-device file transfer, clipboard sharing, image sync, and message sync.
Previously, Digital Chat Station hinted that ColorOS 12 would bring major changes to the UI design. The upcoming ColorOS version is supposed to bring some of the features of OnePlus’ Hydrogen OS.
Oppo recently hired a former Product Manager at Smartisan, Zhu Haizhou. Haizhou joins Oppo’s software development team and is in charge of the product line at Oppo. Plus, Oppo joined OnePlus earlier this year, merging the software teams from both companies.
Furthermore, Oppo is also reportedly hiring several Smartisan and Meizu employees to improve its software development. So, ColorOS 12 is being developed by a group of engineers from ColorOS, FlymeOS, HydrogenOS, and the Smartisan OS team.
