Henri Laaksonen from Schaffhausen is on the main tableau of the US Open.
The number 130 in the world won in the third and final round of qualification against the Slovenian Blaz Rola, who was 49 places behind him, 3: 6, 7: 6 (7: 2), 6: 4.
In the main draw, the Finnish-Swiss dual citizen will start against the Australian John Millman (ATP 43), against whom he lost the only duel so far in 2012 in two sets. Laaksonen had reached the 3rd round in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at the French Open in Paris in June, after which he failed in the first qualifying round at Wimbledon.
