A start will be made on administering the Pfizer vaccine in our country on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in the KKF hall. We recently received 140,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine from the United States. More donation of this is expected. The vaccination will be administered between 09:00 and 16:00.
The Surinamese staff has been trained for a week in administering this vaccine. Now they are ready to actually administer it. Children between the ages of 12 and 18 will be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, as will adults.
Young people between the ages of 12 and 18 must be present with a parent/guardian, and the parents must also bring their identification as a family book. The Pfizer vaccine needs to be handled with more care than the other vaccines. This vaccine must be stored at a certain temperature below 0 degrees.
In addition to the Pfizer vaccine, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Moderna (for pregnant women) are also administered in Suriname.
