The American director (64) shot the documentary series for HBO NYC Epicenters 9/11-2021½ about the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. The series consists of four parts, of which only the first has been broadcast so far. There has been criticism of the latest episodes dealing with conspiracy theories. For example, Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth are discussed, who believe that the Twin Towers were deliberately brought down. Lee initially countered the criticism. “My approach is to put the information in the film and let the viewers decide for themselves,” he said The New York Times. He also expressed the hope that the US Congress would reconsider the matter. Ultimately, Lee returned to the studio to edit the final episode. The fragment that leaves open the possibility that the fourth hijacked plane did not crash, but was shot down, remains.
