SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio family mourns the loss of the youngest in the home, who died of complications caused by COVID-19.
Relatives of Esperanza Garza, only 20 years old, explained that they do not know where the young woman contracted the virus. At first they thought it was a cold, but since she had liver problems and diabetes, her mother asked her to go to the hospital.
It was there that they confirmed that he had been infected with the new coronavirus. The virus attacked her aggressively and three days later she died.
Jillian Garza, Esperanza’s sister-in-law, said that the young woman wanted to be a nurse and was in the care of her mother, whose legs were amputated.
The situation in the family has been complicated, since Esperanza’s mother and sister are also infected with COVID-19. Neither of them has been vaccinated and the deceased girl had not done so either.
