The signing of mortgages to buy a home rose about 28% during the first half of the year, according to the latest updated by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Until June, 3,363 mortgage loans were signed in the province, for the 2,629 that were formalized in the same period last year, which represents an increase of 27.92%.

Within the first half of this year, the month in which the most mortgages were signed was March, with almost 700 loans, although in none of those six months has it dropped below half a thousand.

With regard to the amount mortgaged, in these six months mortgages worth almost 350 million euros have been signed. On average, each mortgage signed in Córdoba throughout 2021 has cost 104,036 euros, which also represents a slight increase compared to the first half of 2020, specifically 1.67%.

The rise in loans and the rise in the amount mortgaged is much more prominent in Córdoba than that registered both at Andalusian and national level. In the case of Andalusia, according to the INE, between January and June 39,685 mortgage loans were signed, compared to 34,043 last year, representing an increase of 16.57%.
