Climate | Sinaloa attentive to ‘Nora’; would leave water in abundance

The passage of Nora through the Mexican Pacific it will affect Sinaloa, leaving water in abundance.

According to the forecast for the afternoon of this Friday, August 27, the amounts could range from 75 to 400 millimeters of rain, causing possible serious floods in Mazatlán, Culiacán, Navolato, Guasave and Ahome.

Civil Protection and the National Water Commission (Conagua) they established what there are more than 120 shelters ready, as possible evacuations are foreseen.

This storm will become a hurricane this Friday, causing significant rains and thus flooding.

“The problem is the damage to the drains due to so much garbage,” said Conagua.

If the estimated forecast is fulfilled until the afternoon of this Friday, the storm may bring rains as happened in September 2018 with Storm 19-E and Hurricane Wila.

Hydrometeorology experts indicated that it should wait until the afternoon of August 28 to know the conditions more closely, as the forecast indicates that Sunday and Monday will be the most risky.
