Humans become infected with pinworms by ingesting fertilized worm larvae through dirty fingers, contaminated food, or the air.
Worms enter the human body in the form of larvae and then will develop in the blood vessels and flow to the lungs or heart.
Larvae need at least two weeks to hatch and flow down the esophagus.
Then, the larvae are ingested in the small intestine and grow into adult worms in about three weeks.
Worm larvae can enter the human body in various ways, such as:
contaminated food
stepping on the ground worm habitat
carried by the wind and inhaled by humans

Reason
Quote from Healthline , humans become infected with pinworms by ingesting or inhaling pinworm larvae accidentally.
Once the larvae enter the body they will stay in the intestines until they hatch and grow up.
Adult female pinworms will move to the large intestine and exit the body through the anus at night.
Female pinworms will lay their eggs in the folds of skin around the anus and then return to the large intestine. This is what often causes itching and irritation of the anus.

The anus becomes irritated due to the patient scratching the anus too much to relieve itching.
If the patient scratches the infected area, the pinworm larvae will move to the fingers and can survive on the hand for several hours.
This allows the larvae to spread by hand contact with other surfaces, and can survive for up to three weeks.
If not treated immediately, pinworm larvae that have hatched in the anus can re-infect the intestine where they came from.
Pinworm infections are not caused by pets, such as dogs and cats because humans are the only host for pinworms.
Diagnosis
Enterobiasis disease can be diagnosed by checking the remains of feces in the laboratory.
If the examination found worm larvae or worms, the patient is positive for enterobiasis.
In addition, it can also be done tape test to diagnose enterobiasis.
