Concert choir Baarn has started rehearsals for the new season. Since the end of July, the choir has been rehearsing in the church hall of De Open Hof in Soest. The choir board has decided to stay in this church hall until the concert scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021.
“The most important reason is that the PNB church, the White church in Baarn, is just too small for the choir and we do not want to split the choir or work with a registration system (first come, first sings),” said chairman Yvonne van Bommel. In this space we can also easily apply the Corona measures.
The choir setup is 1.5 meters away and the doors are opened during the break to freshen the air. Furthermore, choir members are requested not to all go get coffee at the same time and especially to keep their distance.”
The choir still has to get used to the acoustics of the hall. “With Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and Galuppi’s ‘Dixit Dominus’, which we will be performing in November, you have to articulate the text very well in these acoustics and also feel the Italian temperament well,” says Conductor Anthony Scheffer.
The concert will take place in De Open Hof because there is enough space for choir, orchestra and audience. The plan is to give two concerts: a matinee and an evening concert.
For this project we are looking for tenors to strengthen the choir. For further information please contact the secretary Anneke Kole tel no. 033-299 93 45 or via the website www.concertkoorbaarn.nl
Although the measures are becoming more flexible, the board is closely following developments in the field of corona with regard to events.
