On billboards in the German town of Teterev in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, election posters of political parties of 1949 with a map of Germany on which the Kaliningrad region is part of the country were placed. About it informs Nordkurier.
According to the newspaper, the posters are campaigning for the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Christian Social Union (CSU). However, the representative of the CDU Hannes Dettmann said that the party had nothing to do with this.
The posters depict Germany within its borders before World War II, when Königsberg (Kaliningrad) belonged to Germany.
The police opened criminal proceedings.
Meanwhile, on the billboards already reacted in the Kremlin.
“Our reaction is negative, negative. The fact is that this has nothing to do with Berlin’s official position, and, of course, Berlin does not officially question the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation,” said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president.
We will remind, earlier in Kiev Russian diplomats’ cars were “decorated” with tridents… Also near the Russian embassy there were posters depicting Russian diplomats and the “recognition” of Crimea as Ukrainian territory.
Prior to that, in Kharkiv, they hung out in front of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation banner about Crimea with the inscription “Stolen goods”.
