In Eure-et-Loir, unvaccinated caregivers worry about their professional future

Since Emmanuel Macron announced on July 12 the vaccination obligation against Covid-19 for caregivers, Amélie * feels “very isolated”.

This nurse, who works in a unit at the Henri-Ey hospital center in Morancez, near Chartres, claims to be angry with the government.

Vaccination: strong disparities in Eure-et-Loir

“We are a minority of unvaccinated people in my team. I don’t feel pressure from my colleagues. The oppression comes from the government, which blames people who have been asked to be present to treat as many patients as possible during the first lockdown. Now, we would be made almost responsible for the contamination of others, ”denounces this nurse.

Thierry, also a psychiatric nurse at the Henri-Ey hospital in Morancez, has been demonstrating every Saturday for a month in the streets of Chartres, alongside opponents of the health pass. He explains :

“I do not consider myself an antivax, but I want to have more time to have a judgment on the vaccines against the Covid. I don’t want to play Russian roulette. I would have preferred the government to take more interest in Covid treatments. “

This caregiver, father of four, wonders about his future: “If I can no longer do my job, what will become of me? “

Covid-19: the vaccination center for health professionals has opened in Chartres

Lydie, operating room nurse at Louis-Pasteur hospital in Chartres, describes “the feeling of anguish” which assails her. “I can no longer project myself. With the vaccination obligation, I feel dispossessed of my autonomy, of my ability to choose. We are offered a social death. The caregiver says she feels “mounting pressure from vaccinated colleagues. The climate is more tense ”.

These three caregivers contacted a lawyer from the Chartres bar for support. “We also set up the Chartres Resistance group on the Telegram network. There are a majority of caregivers, but also professionals concerned by the health pass, ”explains Lydie, who is considering the creation of an association.
