The explosion of two bombs rocked the area around the Abbey Gate and Baron Hotel outside Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Thursday local time.

In addition to killing 13 American soldiers, the two bomb attacks also killed about 60 civilians who had gathered in hopes of being evacuated from Afghanistan, which is now under Taliban control.
Group Islamic State or ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack and US President Joe Biden has vowed to hunt down those responsible.
The Trump administration has committed that the United States must withdraw its troops from Afghanistan in its February 2020 deal with the Taliban.
Trump said the Biden Administration had “broken plans” for the withdrawal and the military should be the last to leave. “But Joe Biden took them out first, which was the dumbest move anyone has ever made,” he snarled.
“I heard General (Kenneth) McKenzie say that the Taliban will protect us, the Taliban are the enemy,” Trump said in a program at Fox News, which was launched Friday (27/8/2021). General McKenzie is the commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM).
“Our country has never seen such stupidity,” Trump continued.
