Jonah Hills (21 JUMP STREET (2012), THE WOLF OF WALL STREET (2013)) directorial debut is a journey back in time to the middle of the 90s. A time when skateboarding broke sporting conventions and you could impress girls with mixtapes. Stevie is 13 and grew up under difficult circumstances in Los Angeles. He spends his days playing “Street Fighter II” and secretly listening to his big brother’s CD collection. When he starts hanging out with the guys from the local skate shop, a whole new world opens up for him: skating in forbidden places, running away from the police, house parties and of course girls. Freed from the clasps of his single mother and the beating of his brother, Stevie feels invincible – until he realizes that his idols can also be pissed off. And not just when skating.
