The Bareskrim Polri arrested two suspected perpetrators of blasphemy in the near future, namely: Muhammad Kece and Yahya Waloni. The Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas highly appreciated the rapid steps taken by the Police to arrest the two.
“The National Police have carried out their authority well. I appreciate it as high as possible,” said Minister of Religion Yaqut when contacted detik.com, Thursday (26/8/2021).
Yaqut said the arrests of Muhammad Kece and Yahya Waloni were a warning to all parties. He emphasized that insulting religion and other religious symbols is a crime.
“This is a warning to all. Insulting religious symbols and beliefs is a criminal act,” he said.
Yaqut also encouraged the police in the future to always be firm in cases of insulting religion. “I urge the police to be firm in cases like this,” he added.
