Stores of 3 chains in London were closed after a man injected food with an unknown substance

It is not yet clear how many items are contaminated or with what

British police say they have arrested a man who last night injected an unknown substance into processed meat and food for cooking in a microwave oven in three supermarkets in London, Reuters reported.

Stores of the Little Waitrose, Sainsbury Local and Tesco Express chains in the western part of the British capital have been closed.

The man shouted insults at people and entered stores where he injected an unknown substance into food on Fulham Palace Road.

“It is not yet clear how many items were contaminated or with what. An investigation is underway to determine whether other retail outlets in the area are affected,” London police said.

People who bought food from supermarkets last night were advised to throw it away. The man was questioned on suspicion of contaminating goods in order to harm society.
