Jakarta: Huawei has officially announced the presence of its two newest laptops, the MateBook D14 and MateBook D15, in Indonesia. These two laptops carry similar specifications but with different screen sizes.
“The bezels of the MateBook D14 and D15 are thin which makes the screen-to-body ratio reach 87 percent. Both of these notebooks are suitable for study or work in the office or mobile,” said Edy Supartono, Training Director of Huawei CBG Indonesia.
The Huawei MateBook D14 comes with a 14-inch screen and weighs 1.38 kg, while the MateBook D15 has a 15.6-inch screen and weighs 1.53 kg. Regarding other specifications, Huawei provides these two laptops with support for an Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD internal storage space.

Interestingly, the Huawei MateBook D14 and D15 come with a unique web camera design, which is hidden in the keyboard. With this design, the two new Huawei laptops offer better security in terms of privacy, because users can open this 1MP 720p camera only when they want.
In addition, this device is also supported by Huawei’s superior feature, namely Multi-Screen Collaboration. This feature can not only be used on smartphones, but also on Huawei tablets that use the Harmony OS operating system.
After connecting via this feature, users called Huawei can use the device in three usage modes, namely Mirror, Extend and Collaborate. For connectivity, the MateBook D14 and D15 are equipped with WiFi 6 support and a USB-C port.
This USB-C port also functions as an input port for recharging the battery, with a charger with a portable design. Meanwhile, Huawei claims that the batteries in these two laptops can last for a long time.
The MateBook D14 battery is claimed to be able to last up to 13 hours in normal use, while the MateBook D15 is up to 8 hours. Huawei also equipped these two laptops with an improved Shark Fin Fan 2.0 cooling system and greater air output.
To support security, Huawei also presents a fingerprint scanner sensor embedded in the power button. Regarding the price in Indonesia, the MateBook D15 is offered for Rp. 8,999,000, with the initial sale starting on August 25 to September 12.
Orders of MateBook D15 have the opportunity to get a bonus worth IDR 1.750 million, in the form of a laptop stand, Office 365, backpack, and wireless mouse. Meanwhile, the MateBook D14 is offered for IDR 7,999,000, and can start to be ordered from September 1 to 12, 2021, and has the opportunity to get a bonus worth IDR 700,000 in the form of a backpack and power bank.
