Unfortunately, fraudulent practices prevail as one of the biggest problems in multiplayer video games. Of course, OverwatchBlizzard’s popular hero shooter is no exception to the latter and players constantly have to deal with cheaters. Fortunately, the development team is aware of this situation and recently they punished thousands of players.
Through a post in the official blog, AndyB, Community Manager for Overwatch, announced on August 24 that 18,003 fraudulent players have been suspended as part of the latest wave of banning.

Blizzard has already punished thousands of Overwatch players in recent months
We must remember that Blizzard banned more than 10,000 accounts at the end of May. In that latest update, the community manager detailed that the goal was to punish about 1000 cheats from Overwatch every week.
Fortunately, it seems that this objective was achieved, since in this week’s publication it was confirmed that, in the last 3 months, 24,003 players received a punishment for carrying out fraudulent practices.

AndyB encourages players to use the in-game reporting feature. Apparently, community reports do come to fruition and allow developers to spot cheats.
This news comes in a drought of information related to Overwatch 2, so players wonder what the current status of that project is. Unfortunately, Blizzard has not yet talked about it, so everything seems to indicate that we will have to wait for a longer time.
