The Story of a Former Afghan Minister Who Is Now the Introduction to Pizza in Germany

Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat, former minister at Afghanistan reportedly now swerved into a pizza delivery man. Saadat is reported to be a pizza delivery man in Germany.

Reported India Today, in 2018, Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat is the Minister of Communications and IT Afghanistan during the reign of President Ashraf Ghani. Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat holds two master’s degrees in communications and electronic engineering from the University of Oxford.

He served as minister for 2 years before stepping down in 2020 due to disagreements with Ghani.

After resigning, Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat left Afghanistan. He reportedly arrived in Germany in December 2020.

A year after he left office, Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat is now reportedly taking a job as a delivery service courier in Leipzig and was on his way to deliver pizza when he was caught on camera by a local journalist.

Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat’s photo then went viral. In the photo, Saadat is seen wearing an orange outfit with a bag hanging from his back. Pictures posted by Al Jazeera Arabia and other local media show Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat delivering pizza on his bicycle in Leipzig, Germany.

A German journalist claimed to have seen Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat on the road while delivering pizza on a bicycle.

“A few days ago, I met a man who claimed to be Afghanistan’s communications minister for the past two years. I asked him what he was doing in Leipzig. ‘I was driving out of Essen for Lieferando’ (the man told reporters)”. Lieferando providing food delivery services in Germany,” he wrote.

Photos of Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat are circulating at a time when Afghanistan is going through one of its worst crises. Chaos has engulfed Afghanistan since the Taliban took control of the country a week ago.

When asked about developments in Afghanistan, Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat said the fall of Ghani’s government happened so quickly and was not expected.

“The fall of Ashraf Ghani’s government was so fast, unexpected,” said Syed Ahmad Shah Saadat.
