Fitbit has also decided to evolve, presenting a device capable, in addition to measuring our physical activities, to provide us with an indication of the level of stress and general health, put to the test by an unprecedented situation.
Ecco Fitbit Charge 5
The new smartband marks a drastic change with the past, starting with the new 1.04-inch diagonal color screen, twice as bright as that of Charge 4 and with the Always-On function, to always have some information in sight. . The technical equipment is decidedly rich, starting from the integrated GPS that allows you to train without having to carry your smartphone, but managing to trace the paths followed.
There is obviously an optical sensor for detecting the heartbeat, flanked by red and infrared light sensors for monitoring blood saturation (SpO2). To offer users a complete picture of physical health, there are some multi-function sensors capable of creating an ECG (Electrocardiogram) and detecting electrodermal activity, to better understand and manage the level of stress.
The equipment is completed by a three-axis accelerometer, skin temperature sensor, vibration motor, ambient light sensor, Bluetooth and NFC for mobile payments. The battery, which is fully recharged in a couple of hours, guarantees up to 7 days of continuous use, although the Always-On function particularly affects this figure.
Water resistance up to 50 meters is guaranteed, so you can use Fitbit Charge 5 even in the pool or in the rain, without fear of damaging it. For greater wear resistance, the main body is made of aluminum, glass and resin, while the bracelet, which can be replaced with other models, is made of silicone, with an aluminum buckle.

What’s new in Fitbit Premium
Together with the new smartband Fitbit has also announced some news for Fitbit Premium, the platform dedicated to wellness that offers numerous statistics and additional information to users. As has happened in the past, Fitbit Charge 5 also offers six months of free access to Fitbit Premium, so you can try its goodness before deciding whether to subscribe to an annual plan.
The most interesting news is the Daily Recovery Level, coming soon to the platform, which uses the metrics recorded by the wearable device to determine if the user is in the best shape or if it is advisable to continue with physical recovery. Each morning the user will receive a score that will allow them to decide whether to continue with one of the activities recommended by the premium program or whether to choose something lighter.
As numerous studies have confirmed, the best results are obtained with the right recovery times rather than with intensive and repeated workouts, which often cause injuries and can cause problems with rest, mood and appetite. The new feature will be available on Fitbit Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Charge 5, Luxe and Inspire 2.
For Premium members there are also more than 200 audio and video workouts to follow on smartphone or TV, with famous and certified trainers, to have the maximum motivation to get the most out of each training day. New high-intensity exercises from LES MILLS will also soon arrive that will help improve cardiac activity and general well-being.
To help relaxation you will have over 300 sessions designed by experts, while the partnership with Calm, number 1 in sleep and meditation, will allow you to access some exclusive contents to keep your stress level under control.
