On Tuesday, Microsoft kicked off this year’s Gamescom circus, with a longer presentation of upcoming Xbox games. Among the titles that appeared were Dying Light 2, which got a new trailer focusing on the game’s expanded movement system.
The video – which you can see at the top of the article – shows various new ways to move around the city of Villedor. Among other things, players get to use a new paraglider, which both allows you to soar longer when you jump down from buildings and helps you avoid a certain death if you fall in the climbing attempt.
Techland also promises a greatly expanded parkour section compared to the first Dying Light game. According to the developer, there are twice as many parkour-related movements and animations in Dying Light 2, which players can combine with the combat system to tackle enemies in new ways.
Otherwise, the trailer gives a new look at the various factions you encounter in Villedor. These are fighting for control of the city, and players must choose who to ally with and who it is best to stay away from.
Dying Light 2 is scheduled to be launched on December 7. The game will then be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
