The government of the Republic presented the progress of the agricultural projects that are promoted in different departments, aimed at families in vulnerability, as well as the actions carried out within the framework of the School Support Program, of the Ministry of Education.
During an activity in the National Palace of Culturea, the authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (ITSELF) released details of the achievements.
Jose Angel Lopez, holder of the MAGA, reported that the Family Farming project presents important advances, especially School Feeding. In this sense, the families involved in this initiative have sold products for Q159 million so far this year, an amount that exceeds the figure of the previous period, when it was Q132.5 million.

In addition, the official stressed that he has attended 145 792 small producers with training and technical support to improve their crops.
In relation to budget execution, the minister stated: “Until yesterday (Monday), our budget execution is 50.8 percent”.
For his part, the head of the Vice Ministry of Rural development (Empty), Jose Miguel Duro, indicated that a few days ago the purchase of ICTA B-7 corn seed was awarded, which will benefit 38 thousand producers throughout the country.

He affirmed that the Xibalbay Irrigation Unit, in Sololá, and the Bamboo Transformation and Industrialization Center have been promoted for Q8 million, and 121 producers have been trained.
Also, during the presentation, Vinicio Arreaga, Vice Minister of Food and Nutritional Security, stated: “The Stipends for Actions program has benefited 2,792 families Alta Verapaz and Izabal ”. In addition, 5,811 family gardens and 625 school gardens have been installed.
