The President of the Republic, Iván Duque Márquez, in the company of the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruíz, revealed that the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the beginning of the exploration and production of vaccines against Covid has already been agreed with the company SK Bioscience -19 and other pathologies in the national territory.
At the meeting that took place in Seoul, the capital of Korea, they also spoke about the possible testing that there may be of the vaccines that that Korean laboratory is creating and that would already advance to phase three, also contemplated the possibility of creating a long-term program for the production of vaccines that will work on their packaging and distribution in Colombia.

The president also highlighted the meeting he held with the company CJ Group, in the company of the ministers of Commerce, Industry and Commerce, María Ximena Lombana, and of Culture, Angélica Mayolo, where they will establish through another memorandum of understanding the investment for the production of food and audiovisual content in the country.
“They have reiterated that Colombia is the most competitive country in Latin America in terms of regulation for these industries, therefore they bet on the orange economy and creative industries. And something very important is to expand the offer that Latin America of movie theaters and agreements with film distributors in our country, “said the president.
He also highlighted other meetings that will benefit investment in Colombia, firstly he spoke about the financing that Kia made in the country, to create a vehicle production plant in the municipality of Cundinamarca, which had a cost that exceeded 20,000 million pesos; secondly, he spoke about the investment of the company Water Melon Production, which will invest in the production of the film ‘Bogotá’ and which has a cost of more than 40,000 million pesos.
“Pleasant meeting with Sohn Kyung-shik, president of CJ Group, and directors of the conglomerate. We advance in alliances so that they invest in Colombia in the food industry, biopharmaceutical, creative industries and infrastructure. This is economic reactivation, ”said Duque.
Finally, he attended the commemoration ceremony that took place in the Korean cemetery and offered a wreath on behalf of the people who died during the war in the Asian country.
During the event, the president was accompanied by two Colombian veterans who were part of the special moment where they remembered 143 compatriots from the Colombia battalion who died in the war, and the 69 disappeared in the armed conflict were also remembered.
During this conflict, another 448 Colombian soldiers were injured and 28 ended up as prisoners of war. At the event, Duque was accompanied by the first lady, María Juliana Ruiz, and the commander of the Military Forces, General Luis Fernando Navarro Jiménez.
