The MP from “Stand up. BG! We are coming!” Nikolay Hadjigenov believes that the Speaker of the National Assembly Iva Miteva from “There is such a people” would be a great choice for Prime Minister. Yesterday such an opinion was expressed by Atanas Atanasov from “Democratic Bulgaria”. For Hadjigenov, the disadvantage of this idea would be that the National Assembly will be exposed.
“We are holding informal talks so far, mainly with Democratic Bulgaria. We have not reached a name for a prime minister. It is more important what the government will look like, how we will assemble it, what the agreement will be, what deadlines will be set and what tasks,” he explained. Hadjigenov before the BNR.
For her part, Miteva said yesterday that the third mandate to form a government should be given to “Stand up. BG! We are coming!”. Hadjigenov explained why, in his opinion, the formation should receive the third mandate to form a government from President Rumen Radev.
“The probability of winning the third term is not small, because after we finished the option with the square last year, we started to unite, we went around all the formations of change – with a proposal to do exactly what the time comes. Let’s get together and to do what we need to end the dictatorship of GERB, to start breaking the model with the circles and hoops of companies. Therefore, there is a chance to get the third term, “said Hadjigenov. He added that the coalition is the only one that avoids ideological contradictions by trying to talk to everyone except GERB and MRF.
He also commented on the decision of the BSP not to respect the request of Maya Manolova, which provided for the four parties outside GERB and MRF to meet, decide, and propose which party should be given the mandate.
“Cornelia Ninova and Maya Manolova have been constantly measuring each other since the time of the BSP. I prefer not to get into this topic,” Hadjigenov commented.
The MP admitted that the proposal of the protest parties and the BSP to propose to President Rumen Radev who would get the third term was not sufficiently considered.
“However, talks must be held, because a government is possible only in this configuration – the three parties of the protest and with the support of the BSP. If the political intelligence slows down, we will go to other parliamentary elections,” Hadjigenov stressed.
According to him, whether “There are such people” will change its position for upcoming cabinet and support talks will depend on political insight and intelligence.
“Things are unpredictable there. As we observe most of the reactions, they are rather emotional, that is, they have nothing to do with the rational,” said Nikolay Hadjigenov, but added that so far no talks have been held between the two formations.
