Riga, August 24, LETA. Last day, 169 new cases of Covid-19 infection were detected in Latvia and no reports of deaths related to this disease have been received, according to the information compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
The two-week cumulative daily incidence of Covid-19 has increased from 87.5 to 89.8 cases per 100,000 population.
Of the cases detected in the last 24 hours, 145 people had not been vaccinated or had not completed a vaccination course, and 24 had been vaccinated.
9915 Covid-19 examinations were performed in Latvia last day and the proportion of positive cases against the tested ones was 1.7%.
In Latvia, Covid-19 has been laboratory confirmed in a total of 141,287 people, but 2,569 people have died from this disease.
The agency LETA estimates that a total of 1,700 people have been infected in the last 14 days, while the rest are considered to be infected.
Another 600 people were confirmed infected with the new coronavir virus in Lithuania last day, but the disease caused by the virus Covid-19 claimed the lives of one person, the Statistics Department announced on Tuesday.

According to the Department of Statistics, the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 population in Lithuania on August 24 has increased to 275.7.
In Estonia, 375 people were found infected with the new coronavir last day, but the Covid-19 virus has not claimed any new lives, the Health Department said on Tuesday.
4923 analyzes were performed last day, thus the proportion of positive tests was 7.6%. A total of 1,721,638 tests were performed in Estonia to detect infection with the new coronavirus.
The total number of confirmed infections in Estonia has reached 139,500, and 88,003 people have been confirmed to recover.
A total of 1,285 people died in Estonia from Covid-19.
99 patients with the disease are currently being treated in hospitals.
The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population, calculated by the Estonian Department of Health, has risen to 301 on 24 August.
