On Tuesday morning, the emergency services moved out to Kanestraum where a lone vehicle had run off the road. It was only the driver of the car.
Operations Manager Per Åge Ferstad informs Rbnett that the driver was a man in his 30s living in Molde.
– The car ended up off the road and out on a field between 300 and 500 meters before the ferry berth at Kanestraum. There is no reason to believe that it had great speed. We do not know if he might have fallen asleep. Everything indicates that he is only slightly injured, says Ferstad.
Police on the spot suspected driving under the influence of drugs.
– He smelled alcohol, and some conditions also gave rise to other drugs. Therefore, we are on our way to Molde hospital now to take an extended blood sample, Ferstad told Rbnett just before kl. 12.
