The fate of David Linarès was sealed this Monday, August 23. After nine months at the head of the DFCO and sixteen years with the club, the Dijon coach was dismissed from his post.
To replace him, President Olivier Delcourt has decided to trust an experienced coach. In particular passed by the Stade Malherbe de Caen, Patrice Garande officiated last season under the colors of Toulouse. If he feels that the situation is “not urgent” its new president defines it as “The man for the job”.
Results with Caen and Toulouse
“Yesterday afternoon I decided to call Patrice, we had a long discussion together. He convinced me with his desire and his experience” justifies the president.
Patrice Garande has especially built his experience near Caen. First as an assistant coach (2009-2012) then as main manager, for six seasons, first in Ligue 2, then in Ligue 1. After two seasons, he manages to raise the club in the first division. He will stay there until his departure, at the end of the 2017-2018 season.
After a cut of two seasons, he took the head of Toulouse Football Club last season. With the TFC, Garande climbed to third place in the Ligue 2 standings before losing in play-offs for accession to Ligue 1 against FC Nantes.

“When I arrived in Toulouse, the club had just moved down to Ligue 2. A descent is always a trauma. Last year, we only had two points after four days of the championship, affirms the coach in comparison with the similar situation of the Dijonnais this season.
Start well this weekend against Pau
For the neo-Dijonnais, the priority is the upcoming trip to the lawn of Pau, this Saturday, August 28. If he insisted a lot on the psychological aspect and the need for “clean heads” to break the spiral of defeat, he shows himself confident so far.
“We have the ambition to win at Pau. There is a quality squad, there is plenty to do, exhibits Patrice Garande. At the moment, Dijon is more of a team in reaction than in action. I like the verticality, when you play high, when there are centers. “
