Former American hockey player Jimmy Hayes, who played seven seasons in the NHL, died at the age of 31.

According to overseas media, he was found dead in his house in the suburbs of Boston. Further information and the cause of death are unknown.
Hayes wore Chicago, Florida, Boston and New Jersey jerseys in the NHL. In 2007, he contributed to winning silver medals for the USA at the Under-18 Championships.
